Students of the Month – November 2017

The Janesville Lions Club is proud to present its Students of the Month for November 2017.

During their month, the students attend our bi-monthly meetings and learn more about the Lions Club and our community service projects. Each student receives a certificate signed by the Lions Club president in honor of being selected as a Student of the Month.

The following information has been provided by the students and is presented using their words:

Gisela Sarabia-SandovalGisela Sarabia-Sandoval

Senior, Parker High School

Clubs/extracurricular activities: Stakeholder Committee, Spanish National Honor Society (Senator), Science National Honor Society, Sign Language Club, Global Scholars Program, Sisters Inspiring Sisters (Committee Member), Student Leadership Council, and Culture Club.

My interests include: Hiking, the study of cultures and languages, Chinese language, international humanitarian issues, community service, soccer, basketball, and classic and contemporary orchestra.

Post-graduation plans: I plan to attend a two or four year college for a liberal arts program. I am interested in majoring in International Studies and have and undecided minor. I also plan to study abroad during college. I am wishing to go to Japan.

Additional comments: I am honored to be appointed this recognition, and also to be a proud representative of Parker High School. Go West Side! #Vikings.

Senior, Parker High School

Clubs/extracurricular activities: Robotics Club (President), Science National Honor Society (President), National Honor Society (Member), DECA (Member), Varsity football (Captain, Most dedicated, Academic All-State), Varsity Swim (Captain), Varsity Tennis (MVP, Most Dedicated), Computer Club (Member).

My interests include: I love camping and spending time with my family. Sports and Robotics have also played a big role in my life.

Post-graduation plans: After graduation, I plan to attend UW-Platteville for mechanical engineering or accounting.

Additional comments: I have used a growth mindset in everything that I do. I have put my all into everything that I do, and I believe that this speaks to the accomplishments that I have made.

Senior, Craig High School

Clubs/extracurricular activities: National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, French Honor Society, Sierra Club, PALS, JSOL Guides, HOSA.

My interests include: Medicine and helping others.

Post-graduation plans: Attend college and eventually become a doctor.
